Portrait of Photographer Leah LaRiccia

Hi - I'm Leah! I'm a family and event photographer with a documentary approach to photography, and I'm based out of Natick, MA. My work is relaxed, and is focused on moments, emotion, and joy. I love working with families, getting to know them, and being trusted with the important job of documenting their stories.

I’m so happy that I got to turn my passion for photography into my job. I get to do work that I love and believe in, and get

to meet fantastic new people all the time. I smile the entire time I'm working and for that I am forever grateful.

Before I was a photographer, I was a molecular biologist doing cancer research. My husband and I met while doing research at the same biotech company in NYC. We moved to Massachusetts so he could get a new job and I could pursue photography as a career, after I'd enjoyed photography as a hobby for many years. We lived in Waltham while I attended the Center for Digital Imaging Arts, and now live in a cute little house with our son in Natick. I've been a professional photographer for fifteen years, and I am beyond grateful that I love what I do for a living.

Here's some info about me so you can get to know me a bit before we meet in person! I'm into minimalism, so live in a small home and try to live as simply as possible. I've always been into geek culture, and love anything sci-fi. I also love karaoke, key lime pie, doing jigsaw puzzles and listening to comedy podcasts. I'm an outgoing introvert who can be found blasting indie rock while cooking dinner. I collect Funko Pops! and my office is a pastel wonderland full of rainbows, nostalgia and art. There's nothing I love more than spending time with my family. We like to play video games, travel, build Lego, and play mini golf together. And while I always forget to take personal photos, I love getting out into the world and taking photos for my clients. I love attending their events, being welcomed into their lives and homes, and connecting with them.

I've always loved telling stories. When I was a kid I wrote for hours a day, and even drew comic books. As I got older I took screenwriting courses and made movies with friends. I tell stories through photographs now, and doing so gives me so much joy. Drop me a line if you'd like me to tell your story - I'd love to hear from you!
